"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." – 1 Corinthians 15:58

What is CBOQ Assembly?

Assembly is an annual gathering of CBOQ’s family of churches. Part annual general meeting, part conference, and part family reunion, Assembly aims to provide a nurturing environment that fosters spiritual growth, encourages dynamic collaboration, and celebrates the unity that binds our family of churches.

Assembly is a dynamic and evolving event that adapts to the changing needs of our attendees while remaining grounded in the core principles of faith, community, and service. During Assembly, we gather, worship together, pray for one another, make decisions together, and grow as a family of churches. We hear from engaging speakers, thoughtful and talented worship leaders, and delegates from our churches.

Plenary Sessions

All Hands on Deck

Our theme for Assembly 2024 is "All Hands on Deck", highlighting that every church and every person in our CBOQ family makes a difference.

Thursday, June 13

07:00 - 09:00 pm
1st Day

“How Strong are our Ropes?”

When a Captain shouts “All Hands on Deck,” the crew quickly hoists sails and steps into action. But what if the ropes that raise those sails are frayed or broken? As we seek to move forward in mission, we must consider the state of our “ropes” as individuals, churches and a CBOQ family. On this first night of Assembly, we will worship and pray together, as we also hear stories of struggle and perseverance, discuss our own “fraying ropes” together, and hear from our Executive Minster about why attending to our “ropes” as CBOQ is so important.

Friday, June 14

07:00 - 09:00 pm
2nd Day

“Hoist the Sails With Us”

CBOQ is a big beautiful family of over 300 churches serving throughout Ontario and Quebec. Our churches are big, small, quiet, loud, reverent, relaxed, traditional and contemporary. They have worship teams, choirs, organists, guitar players and prerecorded tracks. They are young, old, bustling and spacious. They are thriving and struggling. And they are all seeking to do God’s mission in countless meaningful ways. We want to celebrate our churches and how God is working in them, with a Friday night gathering to remember!

We are asking all those in driving distance to make a special effort to join us on a Friday night for a celebratory and hopeful time of worship and praise as we “Hoist the Sails” of mission together. We will have representatives share, teach, pray and lead from many different churches and associations, with special musical guest “Sanctus Church Worship” also leading us in joyful praise.

Saturday, June 15

12:00 - 01:00 pm
3rd Day

“Let’s Sail”

As we go out into our many ministry settings from our time together, we look to the future. We will sing, pray, and praise as we remember what we have learned and carry it with us. We will be commissioned to step into the calling placed on each of our congregations to continue God’s mission, remembering that we continue to journey together with “All Hands on Deck!”
